The container has a heat transfer of 100 kJ out to air at 375 K. Determine the entropy generation in each of the control volumes as indicated in the figure below.

Solution

For CV1: Specific entropy generation = Q1/T1 = 100/750 = 0.1333 KJ/kg-K

For CV2: Specific entropy generation = Q2/T2 = 100/375 = 0.2667 KJ/kg-K
