A transformer consists of 275 primary windings and 834 secondary windings. If the potential difference across the primary coil is 25.0V, what is the voltage across the secondary coil?

Solution

Number of truns in promary N = 275

Number of truns in secondary N \' = 834

Potential difference in primary V = 25 volt

Potential difference across secondary V \' = ?

We know V \' / V = N \'/ N

                     V \' = V( N \' / N)

                          = 25 (834/275)

                         = 75.818 volt

(b).Current in primary i = V / R

                                 = 25 volt / 125 ohm

                                 = 0.2 A

Current in secondary i \' = ?

We know i \' / i = N /N \'

                    i \' = i ( N / N \')

                       = 0.2 A ( 275 / 834 )

                       = 0.06594 A

We know i \' = V \' / R eff

From this R eff = V \' / i \'

                      = 75.818 volt / 0.06594 A
                      = 1149.67 ohm

A transformer consists of 275 primary windings and 834 secondary windings. If the potential difference across the primary coil is 25.0V, what is the voltage ac
