The B lymphocytes exhibit receptors on their surface with a vast diversity. These receptors include the native receptors formed during the germ line development and those that are retained upon the antigen binding during the infections. The antigen binding can be improved by means of an evolutionary process to combat the infection. Means, the B cell receptor diversity also depending upon the environment in which the individual is growing.
B cell receptor has meticulous ability to recognize soluble antigens,. B -cells are produced from the red bone marrow and are mainly involved in providing antibody-mediated immunity. When these cells encounter the presence of a specific antigen, them become activated or sensitized to form B-cell receptor complex (BCR) with antigen finally communicate this information ot the “nucleus” as aresult “intracellular tyrosine kinase activity with Ig and Ig accessory molecule to mediate endocytosis of antigen. In the subsequent processes, the antigens bound to the class II MHC proteins (major histocompatibility complex) present on B cell surface. Both are widely differ in “antigen recognition”. This is the differential mechanism, unlike normal circulating antibodies.
The structure of B cell receptors contains a membrane-bound antibody, which contains antigen binding site similar to the other antibodies. Upon binding of antigen, the cell differentiates into plasma cells and memory B cells.
