A dc motor is required to have a a high torque at low speeds

A d.c. motor is required to have (a) a high torque at low speeds for the movement of large loads, (b) a torque which is almost constant regardless of speed. Suggest suitable forms of motor.

For a high torque at low speeds for the movement of large loads, the type of d.c motor required is that the Series wound d.c motor.

These type of motor are best suited for low speed running with high torque inorder to the move the loads with higher weight.

(b)

For a torque which is almost constant regardless of speed, the type of d.c motor required is that the shunt wound d.c motor.
