Cell nuclei experiment 1 Calculate the RCF if the revolution

Cell nuclei experiment

1. Calculate the RCF if the revolution per minute of the rotor is 1000 and the radius is 100mm.

2. Calculate the RPM if the radius of the rotor is 75mm and the RCF is 550 xG

3. Where did 95 % ethanol stand when added to aqueous solution and why?

Solution

1. RCF = (rpm/1000)^2 X r X 1.118.

Here, rpm = 1000, r = 100.

= (1000/1000)^2 X 100 X 1.118 = 111.8 ~ 112.

2. RPM = Sqrt (RCF/(r X 1.118)) X1000.

Here, RCF = 550 and r = 75

= Sqrt (550/(75 X 1.118)) X1000 = 2442
