Solution

1.Dyaphysis:It is a elongated rod like structure. It is the portion of a long bone between the ends or extrimities.it found at the mid junction of the bone.It is alos called as \"Shaft\"This is the main part of the bone, and it contains bone marrow and adipose tissue.

Function: primary ossification site.

2.Epiphyseal plate: It is a thin plate of cartillage found between shaft and epiphysis of a long bone.It is made up of Hyaline cartillage and present in the metaphysis.

Function: The main function of the epiphyseal plate is growth.

3.Epiphysis: It is the rounded end of a long bone.It is filled with the red bone marrow. This part of the bone is wider than the Shaft. It is separated from the main portion of the bone by cartillage during the longitudinal growth.

Function: It acts as a site for secondary ossification.

4.Medullary cavity:it is a space or cavity which is present in the bone marrow in the diaphysis region of a long bone.it is the hallow interior of the middle portion of a long bone.

Function:It stores red or yellow bone marrow. so called as marrow cavity.

Yellow marrow:

Bone marrow: Bone marrow is a red, soft,semi-solid,gelatinous tissue which is found in the axial skeleton.

It is of two types . they are 1.Yellow bone marrow , 2. Red bone marrow.

Yellow bone marrow: It came from a Latin word \"Medulla ossium flava\". it is made up of fat cells.

Function: It produces fat , cartilage. it stores adipocytes.

Red marrow: Latin word- \"Medulla ossium rubra\". it is mainly made up of hemato poitic tissue. In adults it is primarly found in the flat bones like sternum..etc. in child it is found in medullary cavity of the long bones.

on aging in adults it is replaced by fatty adipose marroe or yellow marrow.

Functions: The main function of this red marrow is to produce Red blood cells (RBC).White blood cells (WBC), platelets.
