Use the geometric interpretation of slope rise divided by fu

Use the geometric interpretation of slope (rise divided by fun) to find the slope of the line. Then, by identifying the y-intercept from the graph, write the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line. What is the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line?

Solution

Dear Student

Thank you for using Chegg !!

As per the graph given it is clear that the line passes throught the point (3,0) & (0,-15)

Hence slope of line = (-15-0) / (0 - 3)

= 5

Hence slope of given line is 5

Now for equation of line in sloe intercept form we have general equation of line given by

y = mx + c

where m is slope and c is a constant

m = 5 for our case

=>

y = 5x + c

Now since line passes through 0,-15 => this point should satisfy equation of line

-15 = c

=> Equation of line becomes

y = 5x - 15

Solution

 Use the geometric interpretation of slope (rise divided by fun) to find the slope of the line. Then, by identifying the y-intercept from the graph, write the s
