Some of the steps that needs to be used for measuring the performance of employees fairly are as follows:
Punctuality is the first thing that needs to be evaluated while measuring the performance of the employees. Whether the employee is arriving to work regularly or whether he is absent from work regularly. If he is going to be absent regularly, then the underlying issue needs to be addressed immediately.
Quality of the work that the employee is putting in needs to be evaluated. Some employees be punctual at work, but the quality of the work that they put in is not upto the mark. There might be some understanding issues with such employees.
Personal habit of the employee is another such key indicator. The inbuilt bad habits of the employee can hamper the employees performance. Some of the bad habits may include, taking unauthorized breaks, indulging in gossip, using the office computer for personal work.
Attitude: If the employee has a bad attitude, it may often result in insubordination. These kind of employees would not comply with the companies rules and procedures.
Personal appearance: Most of the companies nowadays have a dress code to be complied with in the office. The performance rating should be properly given for those employees who do not comply with the dress code. Bad personal appearance would reflect badly on the companies image.
