Teams have two or more than two individuals wherein specific roles are assigned (Hackman & Wageman, 2005). There are effective tasks performed and it is essential to have specific knowledge and the members need to have common goal or outcome.

The project can be handled effectively for cross functional teams with the use of effective project management. The roles assigned included the project manager making sure that there are creative strategies utilized and there is an understanding of conflict resolution for the team.

There was proper planning used for the cross-functional project team to deal with any potential issues and conflict of interests. The roles were properly defined and responsibilities were addressed which is important part of planning  (Zoerman 2008).

In order to achieve team effectiveness the members interact with each other with stronger need to fulfill the specific common goals.

There is research done related to several models of team effectiveness (Cohen &
Bailey, 1997; Gladstein, 1984; Hackman, 1987; McGrath, 1964).  

The cross functional teams perform the new product development (NPD) processes (Griffin, 1997, McDonough, 2000). Here the team members have information networks and useful functional backgrounds for development of innovative strategies and creative solutions.(Ancona &
Caldwell, 1992; Keller, 2001; Reagans & Zuckerman, 2001). The cross functional teams have issues and concerns and these are important to solve through team effectiveness (Gebert et al., 2006; Keller, 2001; McDonough, 2000).

The cross functional membership within the team is addressed through important strategies focusing on making the team effective.

The diverse team members need to be managed effectively through conflict management system (Gebert et al., 2006).
Collaborating takes into account the support of information exchange for providing valuable solution. This helps to understand the situation of conflict. Compromising is an effective way of supporting information exchange and finding an important way to settle the conflict. Collaborating is an essential factor used for creating a stable pattern for using optimum solutions with collaborating efforts and compromised solutions.
