how many fans?

Solution

1) Total fans= 50000

% cheering for home team= 80.1

Therfore, number of fans cheering for home team = 80.1 % of 50000

= (80.1/100)(50000) = 40050 fans.

2) Total fans= 70000

% cheering for home team= 81.9

therefore, number of fans cheering for home team = 81.9 % of 70000

= (81.9/100)(70000)= 57330 fans

Therefore the rest will be cheering for the away team

Thus, number of fans cheering for the away team = 70000-57330=12670 fans.
