The blood mass of a mammal is proportional to its body mass

The blood mass of a mammal is proportional to its body mass. A rhinoceros with body mass 3000 kilograms has blood mass of 150 kilograms. Find a formula for the blood mass, M, of a mammal as a function of the body mass, B, and estimate the blood mass of a human with body mass 80 kilograms. M = The blood mass of a human with body mass 80 kilograms is kilograms.

Solution

It is given that

3000 kg body mass to blood mass is given

therefore

M/B = 3000/150

M = 20 B

M = 20 B

above is function of body mass praportional to blood mass

Answer: M = 20B

Now :

Blood mass with 80 kg body mass

80 = 20 B

B = 80/20 = 40 kilograms

Answer: 40 kilograms
