Can you find any case law dealing with employees or prospective employees alleging privacy violations due to employers accessing information about them posted on social media?
Solution
When I was working i.e., one year back I had seen this kind of situation in my organization that which employees are facing the problem like employers are watching their posts in the social media. By this employees are facing many problems because by the reference of the posts employers are reflecting them in the workplace. Sometimes due this problem two of my colleagues are resigned the job because employers are abusing them in the workplace so that they feel embarrassing and quit their jobs. But according to my View personal posts in social media cannot be a part of workplace consequences. If the employers wants to see the posts they can visit their profile and can watch them but they should not bring these kinds of topics during the workplace hours and make the employees embarrass. Employees will also have some privacy time and it’s up to them what they want but employers should not interfere if they access the profiles. When the employee was out of the workplace it was their own life and they can do anything and they can post anything. So, when I come across this case in my workplace I feel so angry on the management because employers cannot do anything and there was no chance to post anything in the social media if they are working in the organization. Then I thought that why society is thinking that we are democratic and can do what they want in their own lives.
