A plane can fly 450 miles in the same time as it takes a car to go 150 miles. If the car travels 100 mph slower than the plane. find the speed of the plane.

let \' x \' be the common time of the plane to travel 450 miles and a car to travel 150 miles

speed of the plane = 450 /x miles /hr

speed of the car = 150 /x miles /hr

difference of the speeds = 450 /x - 150 /x = 300 /x =100 (given)

=> x= 300/100 = 3

speed of the plane = 450 /3= 150 miles /hr
