Answer: Legitimacy is important to international laws, intergovernmental organizations and non governmental organizations. Legitimacy is confirmity to law, which are formulated by the international organisations for the whole world. Only when the laws are acceptable, they can be applied or defend accordingly.

Today we need international laws, intergovernmental organizations and non governmental organizations to tackle issue which are a major concern at the gloabl level, for example terrorism, environment, poverty and many more. Humanity as a whole currently faces a number of fundamental challenges that can only be dealt with on a global scale. These problems ccall for the international solutions by some internationally set up organisation whose legiytimacy is approved and accepted globally. Solutions to these problems can contribute to global justice and can bring great benefits to human beings generally. But these solutions will require sacrifices on the part of all or at least most persons and there is likely to be a great deal of disagreement about the optimal solutions and the fairest distribution of the burdens imposed by any solution.

We do have international law and institutions that attempt to solve some of these problems but the most powerful ones have questionable legitimacy. Therefore, legitimacy of the intergovernmental organizations andd international agencies have to be worth to be accepted globally. Or else nobody will follow them, and the major issues could never be ettled for the betterment of the humanity. Only when they can establish their repo of being legitimate, accountable, transparent and global representative of the human cause, then only they can be trusted by the world.

Today few out of all the international organisations have proved their legitimacy to world. At the same time, many argue that some parts of international law and institutions do not receive the respect they are due. An institution has legitimacy when it has a right to rule over a certain set of issues. The moral function of the legitimacy of decision-making processes is to confer morally binding force on the decisions of the institution within a moral community even for those who disagree with them and who must sacrifice. This can be acheived only when its directives create content independent and very weighty duties to obey the decision maker.

Therefore, legitimcay is important to international laws, Intergovernmental Organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations.
