Find the equation of the line parallel to the graph of 4x2y3

Find the equation of the line parallel to the graph of 4x+2y=3 that contains the point (4,3).

Solution

Given equation : -4x + 2y = 3

So , 2y = 4x + 3

y = 2x + 3/2

Hence , Slope of the line = 2

Parallel lines have same slope.

So slope of the required line is 2

Point on the line is (4,-3)

So by slope point form ,equation of the line is

y - y1 = m(x -x1)

y + 3 = 2 (x -4)

y + 3 = 2x - 8

2x- y = 11 is the required equation of the line.

Find the equation of the line parallel to the graph of 4x+2y=3 that contains the point (4,3).SolutionGiven equation : -4x + 2y = 3 So , 2y = 4x + 3 y = 2x + 3/2
