Q. Analyze the Risk and Reward related to schedule management for each stakeholder. The objective is to explain the importance to each Stakeholder of having an interest in the schedule.
Solution
The definition of Schedule Management states that Schedule Management is the process of developing, maintaining and communicating schedules for time and resource. A Schedule is supposed to show how the work progress over a period of time, in simple terms it is the timetable for a project. The process of preparation of Schedule/s is aimed at to deliver the needs/requirements of various stakeholders.
In the present case of setting up of new hospital, the given stakeholders are classified as 1. Providers, 2. Payers, 3. Employers and 4. Patients.
The requirements of PROVIDERS are in terms of making health outcome through accuracy of diagnosis and therapy with technical awareness, so for Providers, schedule management must focus on the availability of latest technical know-how with greater accuracy and continous upgradation. The risk is being outdated technical know-how whereas uptodate technology may fetch more revenue in proportion to costs and savings in time resulting more patiets turnover.
In terms of PAYERS schedule management must be cost-effective and take care of efficient utilization of resources. Wastage of resources as well as wastage/unproductive use of time should be minimum.
EMPLOYERS need to get their employees back to work quickly at minimum possible costs so schedules should be focused on the time and cost factors for each type of activity/operation of work.
Finally schedule management must cater to the requirements of PATIENTS. It is very important to have a clear communication so that patients can get the timely services and should not be subjected to additional stress and strain on account of uncertainty about the treatment. Employees of the hospital should be well trained to care of the requirements of the patients.
