Solution

1)

a)

from the given graph the straight passes through the two points (-2,0),(0,1)

y- intercept means where the line meets the y-axis,

y-intercept is 1,so the point is (0,1)

b)

slope of the line is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

therefore slope is (1-0)/(0-(-2))=1/2=0.5

c)equation of the line is y=mx+c

where m is slope and c is y-intercept

therefore equation is y=(x/2)+1

==>equation is x-2y+2=0

2)

a)

the line meets the y-axis at the point (0,9)

so y-intercept is 9

b)

the line is passing through the two points (0,9) and (9,0)

slope=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)=(0-9)/(9-0)=-1

c)

equation of line is y=mx+c

==>y=-1(x)+9

==>x+y=9

3)

a)the line passes through the origin

therefore y-intercept is 0.((0,0))

b)

the line also passes through the point (1,6)

therefore slope=(6-0)/(1-0)

=6

c)

therefore line equation is y=mx+c

y=6x+0

y=6x.

4)

a)

the line passes through the origin

therefore y-intercept is 0

(0,0)

b)

the line also passes the point (5,-7)

therefore slope=(-7-0)/(5-0)

=-7.

c)

equation of line is y=mx+c

y=-7X+0

7x+y=0
