E-businesses and M-businesses require information systems that cut across the operational and management systems, i.e. a mix of TPS and MIS and thus they opt for enterprise resource planning systems (ERP) to provide their business a more of an integrated framework of information systems. E-businesses and M-businesses are shifting information systems towards the use of open software, hosting of Applications Service Providers, and use of mobile technology.
