For the process of photosynthesis A What gas is produced B W
For the process of photosynthesis: (A) What gas is produced? (B) Why was elodea placed far away from the lamp? (C) What was the source of CO_2 in the experiment? (D) What is the least efficient light for photosynthesis?
Solution
Photosynthesis is the process where plants use sunlight energy, CO2 and convert it into Glucose releasing O2.
b) The lamp was placed far away to find how the distance of a light source have affect on the photosynthesis rate. The far the lamp, the rate of photosynthesis is reduced
d) Blue light has low efficiency as absorbed by chlorophyll, carotenoids and some carotenoids are not in the chloroplasts. Hence some is not participated in photosynthesis.
But in red light, it is completely absorbed by chlorophyll.
