1. What is the cost per pound?

Ans -

For 30 pounds, cost is $12.95

So, for 1 pound cost = $12.95 / 30

  = $0.4316

= 43.16 cents ($1 = 100 cents )

2. How many ounces are there in a bag?

Ans -

1 pound = 16 ounces

A bag weighs 30 pounds.

So, 30 * 16 = 480

So, 480 ounces are there in a bag.

3. What is the cost per ounce?

Ans -

For 30 pounds, cost is $12.95

So, for 1 pound cost = $12.95 / 30

  = $0.4316

1 pound = 16 ounces

So, for 16 ounces, cost = $0.4316

For 1 ounce, cost = $0.4316 / 16

   = $0.026975

   = 2.6975 cents ($1 = 100 cents )

4. How many ounces of dog food does the dog eat per day?

Ans -

A very large dog eats 3.5 cups of food per day and each cup weighs 3.5 ounces.

So, 3.5 cups weigh 3.5 * 3.5 = 12.25 ounces.

So, the dog eats 12.25 ounces of dog food per day

5. How many days will the bag last?

Ans -

From ans 2, bag weighs 480 ounces and from ans 4, the dog eats 12.25 ounces per day.

So, the bag will last for 480 / 12.25 = 39.18 = 39 days (Approx)

6. What is the cost per day?

Ans -

From ans 3,

For 1 ounce, cost = $0.026975 = 2.6975 cents ($1 = 100 cents )

From ans 4, dog eats 12.25 ounces per day.

So, for 12.25 ounces, cost = 12.25 * $0.026975

  = $ 0.33044375

= 33.044375 cents

So, the cost per day is $ 0.33044375 = 33.044375 cents

7. What is the cost per year?

Ans -

From ans 6, the cost per day is $ 0.33044375

There are 365 days in a year.

So, the cost per year = 365 * $ 0.33044375

= $ 120.612
