This means ,individuals cannot really evolve. They can adapt to natural processes and natural selection needs more than one generation to occur. Only populations evolove Evoluyion occurs randomly. Evolution does not occur by chance. Natural selection involves organisms trying to adapt. Organisms do not try to adapt.In fact, it is natural selection that enables various group members to survive and reproduce. Individual organisms can evolve in a single life span. It takes generations for a population to evolve. Organisms are getting better.Unhealthy genes are removed out through natural selection, but many imperfect organisms have survived through time.eg fungi, mosses Genetic drift occurs only in small populations. Genetic shifts can occur in large population also. How ever the changes that happen are easily noticeable in small populations. Humans have descended from monkeys. Humans and chimpanzees share more than 90 percent of their genetic sequence. Thats all. But the common ancestor was an ape like creature. Humans are not evolving. Humans are able to adapt and modify with inventions and technology.Now there is treatment for diabetis with insulin, so the gene versions that contribute to juvenile diabetis is no longer strongly selected.How ever they have not stopped evolving.The risk of epidemics are still higher in developing countries.
