Here\'s my question class...what are some ways we as consultants can minimize resistance to change?

As consultants, the first thing that we need to do is identify the main reasons for resistance to change. Is it because the stakeholders have low tolerence of change, or is it because the stakeholders have a misunderstanding regarding the change or is it because the stakeholders think that the change will affect their self interests.

As a consultant i will undertake the following actions to reduce and eventually eliminate this resistance - (i) communication - Consultants will have to communicate with the stakeholders and inform and educate them about the need and importance for the change and how the change will be beneficial for them as well for the organization in the long run. (ii) encourage stakeholder involvement - Consultants will have to involve the employees and other stakeholders in the change being introduced and implemented. This will help the stakeholders understand the cause for the change and thus reduce their resistance.
