Solution

6)   f(x) = (8x +5)/3

Find inverse by replacing x= y ; y = x and solve for y

y = (8x +5)/3

x = (8y +5)/3

3x = 8y +5

y = (3x - 5)/8

f^-1(x) = (3x -5)/8

7) ( 2, -5) and ( 6,-3)

Distance= sqrt[ (6 -2)^2 + (-5 +3)^2]

= sqrt(4^2 +2^2]

=sqrt20 = 2sqrt5

Midpoint = (2+6)/2 = 4 ; (-5-3)/2 = -4

Mipoint = ( 4, -4)
