Conflict a state of discord with different opinions, ideas, working method, views and values are found in individual. Conflict is referred as negative connotation but conflict within an organization can be positive and negative. Sometime conflict is constructive that positively emerge organization’s performance. Conflict can be interpersonal conflict or intra group conflict.

Schedules are applied to both aspects time management and tasks distribution. It is responsibility of the project manager to make schedule of project along with delegation of work among the project team. It is evitable to only for managing conflicts during project management, but also controlling and resolving to avoid project failure.

Conflicts related to schedule issues are there at many level of team members at different phase of project execution like

Stakeholders or group of promoters are usually concerned with project scheduling and meeting deadlines with respect to budget &financial concerns those may be stressful some time. Any delay or deviation with the project schedule can cause a conflict between those people. Tighter deadlines with achieving millstone, additional tasks if any , changes in project while execution to be accommodated within the stipulated schedule surely impact on project scheduling and work pressure on project manager and team members also that may cause conflict.

For example: There is website development IT project of ABC pharmacy company. There is change in one module as company has introduced new drug in market that leads change in product description webpage. Project manager is concern with project progress and milestone with responsibility of meeting deadlines. He now requires specific person with pharmacy educational background who can describe client detail more specifically. So he wants to hire a third party contractor for a specific job in order to accommodate to project change. Here these requests might implicate budgetary, finance & manpower increases resulting create conflict with the management with respect to meet change request.

Software engineers who involve in project coding may think that managers don’t respect them as they put pressure on developers to prepare certain modules within certain deadlines. Sometimes team members unsatisfied with task distribution within the schedule provided as they might feel unfair task allocation by the project manager. Conflict will arise in this case because of not allocating task based on skill sets by the project manager, or on fact that some tasks have priorities and may benefit for future career advancement.

However, project schedules and project conflicts’ are closely linked It is, however, the project managers’ duty to resolve those conflicts by management skills including like project planning, leadership, communication, defining job responsibility, team work motivation, offering financial or non-financial incentives, and negotiation etc in all cases.
