In the wake of 2010 election results that were won by the the military although they were rigged and thus there were no expectations of change to be brought by the government. But to the surprise of all the new president defied expectations. The government released hundreds of political prisoners along with Aung San Suu Kyi, constraints on the press were also removed, whereas opposition parties were allowed to contest seats in a series of by-elections. All of the above measures were taken so as to ease international pressure and thus it is widely believed that the government was motivated by the happenings around the world, changing world and the understanding among the political leaders of Myanmar that to avoid an economic collapse growth was need of the hour. The government is trying to stimulate a wealthy economy by number of reforms including anti-corruption, currency exchange rate, foreign investment laws and taxation, allowing private banks to trade foreign currency, abolition of multiple exchange rates, and establishment of Special economic zones while getting things going for the people of Myanmar. Military regime will end up giving their seats with the next election and thus country will prosper. And one of the main thing coming out of isolation and revocation of number of sanctions will allow economic growth and emergence of democracy.
