accounting information system (AIS); is a systmatic recording of all transactions which related to one event only. all the costs associated with one activity or event will be records in this process. when an organization performs more than one event or activity, they need to be maintain different recording systems. usually big firms follows this system. a firm which operates in more than one nation, they may follow different accounting programs. for example a firm which operates in US may follow SAP FICO, where the same firm a brach in India may follow ORACLE finance.

it is more efficient and effective than traditional accounting system. because, every package has its own limitations, to overcoem these limitations, it is better to follow event driven accounting information system.
