given equation is :

y = -(1/2)x + 5

slope m = -1/2

Point = (-1, 6)

Since we need to find parallel line, slope will be same

(y - 6) = (-1/2)*(x - (-1))

2y - 12 = -x - 1

2y = -x + 11

Given equation is :

y = 3x - 6

m = 3

for perpendicular line slope = m*m1 = -1

m1 = -1/m = -1/3

Point = (2, -3)

equation of line will be

(y + 3) = (-1/3)*(x - 2)

3y + 9 = -x + 2
