How can you make pyruvate from the pentode phosphate pathway
How can you make pyruvate from the pentode phosphate pathway if aldolase in glycolysis is defective?
How can you make pyruvate from the pentode phosphate pathway if aldolase in glycolysis is defective?
Solution
Pentose phosphate pathway has two phases. Oxidative and non-oxidative phase. Pentose sugar which is produced during the oxidative phase undergoes transaldolase and transketolase reaction during the regeneration of hexose sugar. During that process, they produce Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate. This Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate via the payoff reaction of glycolysis will converted into Pyruvate
