1) You are a project manager on a high-technology program. As the project begins to wind-down, your boss asks you to write a paper so that he can present it at a technical meeting. His/her name goes on the paper. Should this be part of your job? How do you feel about this situation?
2) In your opinion, as a project manager should be compensated (pay and/or benefits) based on your project performance and success or for the number of people that you supervise? Explain your answer.
3) This is a real thought-provoking question for consideration. Is it possible for a project manager to have a dedicated \"following\" of workers and possess a true \"winning spirit,\" yet, still be hated by all?
Solution
A project manager is just another employee of a company. Though the designation is very high but it is also a fact that while working in an organization the employees are just hired to fulfil the organizational requirements. It is not compulsory for the executives of the company to give credits to everyone for their work for the fact that employees are paid for their services. It is solely the wish of the management to give recognition to employees for their work. Though it is not ethical to take credits for some others work but then it is not at all binding to the company and is not at all illegal.
As a project manager I have to follow the direct orders of my boss. Though there is a scope if it is not mentioned in the work contract of manager to write reports, the manager can say no.
No issue I will feel bad for someone else getting credits for my work, but then nothing could be done as I am getting paid for my work. However, I can ask the boss for some recognition in lieu of my work.
Note: as per chegg policy only one question can be asked at one time.
