Solution
David Falk revolutionized sports marketing by pressing on the values of loyalty, striving for the best and never settling for the second best. David Falk was a visionary and hence spotted trends long before they became apparent to others in the field of sports marketing. Being a visionary enabled Falk to understand the full potential of a player or a company and this enabled him to take advantage of all possibilities that were present in a deal. He revolutionized sports marketing by being practical and pragmatic on one hand and by being aggressive on the other hand. For instance it was Falk’s idea to team up Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny for a movie. The concept was conceived by Falk and then was presented to Warner Bros. Falk saw potential in this arrangement as Jordan was a popular sports icon and teaming him with a popular character will be a sure shot way of leveraging synergies.
David Falk puts emphasis on reputation as well as relationships. He very well understands that agents have to establish and maintain good, healthy and cordial relationship with college coaches. It was these qualities, character traits and philosophical grounding that helped David Falk to revolutionize sports marketing.
