1)by using methyl ph indicator we can clearly see the color difference while in universal indicator sometimes colors are not differentiated clearly .....so we will be able to do the experiment more precisely 2) while functioning with one solution hydration of glass electrode takes place on the surface of ph sensitive glass membrane ......so to get reliable data with other solution rinsing should be done ... also using with previous solution, coating may be deposited on the membrane causing slow response or drifting of electrode
