Instructions: Explain what we mean by Process-Chain-Network (PCN). Name three PCN Process Regions; then explain why the Direct Interaction and Surrogate interaction regions in a PCN diagram are important in service design.
Solution
Answer- Process-Chain-Network is a method to visualize a service delivery procedure. PCN has different opinions towards service operations and used in different situations. A new visualisation technique known as process-chain- network is introduced by Sampson. This technique helps to assess the communication between customer and is service provider. The process-Chain -Network has three main regions which are named as direct interaction region, surrogate interaction region and independent processing region. These regions are very helpful to proceed a service based on client\'s choices and these regions also increase the efficiency and economies of scale.
The direct interaction region is important in a PCN diagram because it is a domain which includes the region for person to person and person to organization interaction. At the same time, the surrogate region is important because it include the areas of a domain which involves the steps of interaction with technological resources or information of other process entity. Both of these regions are very important in a PCN diagram to achieve the target designed by the service provider or the organization.
