LAB REPORT Pre-lab questions 1. Describe a non-chemical application of Le Chatelier\'s principle. What is the system in equilibrium? What is the stress? How does the system respond? 2. Consider the equilibrium discussed in the INTRODUCTION. As head chemist at a chemical plant, you are in charge of the amount of PCls that is produced daily. Solution
According to Le Chatelier\'s principle or The Equilibrium Law, any system in equilibrium is subjected to change in concentration, pressure, volume or temperature, the system readjusts itslef to reach a new equilibrium state.
The non-chemical application of the above stated principle is in economics to define economic equilibrium. The factors governing this equilibrium are demand and commodity-supply.
Stress in the above stated economic equilibrium can be high demand, fixed price constraints or short commodity supply which would be matched by increase in commodity production or fluctuations in the price of the commodity.
