Enter its chemical formula: Of which reactant are there the least initial moles? Enter its chemical formula: Which reactant is the limiting reactant? Solution
From the drawing,
Number of moles of O2= 6 (most initial moles)
Number of moles of CH4= 4 (least initial moles)
From stoichiometry of reaction,
1 mole of CH4=2 Mole of O2
4 mole of CH4 = x mole of O2
x=4*2 = 8 mole of O2
but supplied mole of O2=6
therefore, O2 is limiting reactant.
