A project lifecycle is the guidelines for managing any type of projects. In my workplace, the predictive type of project life cycle is used to handle the work type which is administrative projects. In the predictive project life cycle, a detailed level of planning is identified in the project scope, time and cost. The project is split up into different phases which can be sequential or overlapping. The project can be well planned in advance. As and when a phase is completed, the next phase is planned which is to be implemented in the near future. For example, in the publishing company that I worked I planned out on the issues that are to be published each year. However, each issue (monthly issues) are detailed and well-planned only a month before and not earlier than a month.

The project lifecycle that I adapt in the personal life is adaptive or change-driven. Life cannot be determined in advance since change is constant. Hence I adapt the change-driven or agile type of project lifecycle to handle the live projects. Similar to the predictive lifecycle, the project is split up into phases which are either overlapping or sequential. Each phase is completed and then the next is taken up. For example, delivering a child is a phase and growing up the child is another phase.
