What is the purpose of inverting inoculated plates during incubation?
Solution
During incubation water in the plate start to condense. If Petri dishes are not inverted during incubation then it will lead to falling of condense water into microbes and lead to contain the bacterial sample. The condensation cause bacterial sample to spread and leads to their mixing. inverting helps water to accumulate on the lid and thus preventing it from contaminating samples.
