If you have x2 x 1x 1 and with graph shown graph is shown
If you have (x^2 + x + 1)/(x + 1) and with graph shown (graph is shown in my textbook). How do you fin the intervals of the function that are increasing, decreasing, constant?
---
Very confused.
---
The answer key is
Increasing {- infinity, -2) and (0, infinity)
Decreasing: (-2. -1) and (-1, 0)
---
I don\'t know how they got this?

Solution
Increasing intervals are where valuw of function in graph increases with increase in x. Decreasing is where it decreases with increase in x Constant is when f(x) reamins same over an interval for change in x
