There are five core cultural dimensions

1. Power distance : The degree of inequality that exists band accepted between people witha nd without power. In low power distance it is likely to be believed that power is equaly distributed even to less powerful individuals in the society. In high power distance there is inequality in power distribution.

2. Uncertainity avoidance : It measures the extent to which people react to anxiety. In societies with high uncertainity avoidance people like to feel uncomfortable in certain unambiguous situations and like to live a controlled life.

3. Individualism Versus Collectivism (IDV) : In individualistic culture people tend to focus on individualism and more concerned with individual goals and needs, in collectivistic culture people give more importance to the needs and goal of the group as a whole . They stay loyal to the group they belong to and in return the group takes care of the individual interests.

4.Masculinity Versus Femininity (MAS) : In masculine society the emphasis is given more on masculine work such as earnings, advancement, title respect whereas in feminine society the emphasis is on personal and humanstic goals such as personal relations, friendly working environment.

5. Long term orientation :  It measures long-term values versus short term. In long term orientation the employees want a long term relationship with the company and in short term orientation the employee may wish to change the employer quite often.
