Round to the nearest whole foot as needed. A straight trail with a uniform inclination of 30 degree leads from a lodge at an elevation of 700 feet to a mountain lake at an elevation of 1000 feet. What is the length of the trail?

Solution

A right angled triangle is formed by horizontal line between lodge and place where vertical from lake meets.

vertical distance of lake from the point where horizontal line from lodge meets = 1000 - 700 = 300 ft

Train length = hypotensuse of the triangle

So, use sin formule : sin30 = 300/x

x = 600 ft is the length of trail

Round to the nearest whole foot as needed. A straight trail with a uniform inclination of 30 degree leads from a lodge at an elevation of 700 feet to a mountai
