How do I read the 0 dot 73 0 dot 74 etc What numerical value
How do I read the 0 dot 73, 0 dot 74, etc.? What numerical values do these 0 dot (some number) represent? Also, for the ratio of slight injuries to serious injuries, how do I read the 6 dot 8, 5 dot 3, and 3 dot 5? What are the actual numbers? Are they fractions? Decimal numbers? Please help. Thank you.
Solution
0.73 and 0.74 are the fractions, these are the number of casualties per men employed.
in simple terms , in the age group under 21 at coalface in the year 1948, there are 73 causalties per 100 men
similarly in the age group under 21 at coalface in the year 1949, there are 74 causalties per 100 men
The numbers 6.8,5.3, 3.5 are the ratios of slight injuries to serious injuries. In simple words,if the ratio is 6.8 , it means the number of slight injuries is 6.8 times more than the serious injuries.
Hope you understand
