why cant I say sigmae 2 to infinity 1lnn 0Why must I use co

why cant I say sigmae 2 to infinity 1/lnn = 0....Why must I use comparison test...Please explain to clear my confusion Thanks

Solution

First we need to test whether the seires converges or diverges before evaluating its value. This is a tricky case...We feel like each number vanishes as we go to infinity...but it doesnt follow any purticular pattern. From the comparision test we have that the series diverges..So better go for convergence tests first before directly evaluating any series sum
