Training can be very beneficial to individual and organization. Training help business or organization to be more effective, it helps with work place safety, productivity and satisfaction. The following are some essential skills that are most likely to address in training:
Communication
Employee motivation
Employee recognition.
However, on the job training can be ineffective for multiple reasons for example: employee bring negative attitude to training, not attentive, create distraction. Employee will get bored and lose focus if the subject of the training is not relevant to the actual job being done, \"many small businesses use peer training because they lack budget for formal training\" (Blanchard, P.N. & Thacker), at times, employees tend to be jealous of their peers and refuse to take part.
To ensure training is effective, one needs to know the importance of training and how it will beneficial to the business. In addition, ongoing training should make a priority with ongoing staff development. Everyone will benefit from the training and keep up with; industry changes, be able to grasp latest technology, stay ahead of competitors, be able to identify weakness and skill gaps, exercise gained knowledge and skills, provide incentive to learn and increase job satisfaction.
My personal on the job training has been effective when the company I am currently working for went through an acquisition however, as the world of technology evolves, the learning environment becomes effective with regular training session taking place to ensure staff are using and grasping the latest technology comfortable and to their full advantages. In addition, this has been very effective it has reduces turnaround time and increase productivity and profitability.

Yes, I agree with my peer’s discussion post that training can be very beneficial to individual and organization and it helps organizations to be more effective, work place safety, productivity and job-satisfaction.
In my opinion, there should be initial employee training at the time of hiring on the work culture, technology in use and business related matter of the new organization and also how to handle the sensitive information in this digital world. There should be awareness program for employees and time to time refreshment program for updating their skills on the issues concerned to the organization.
It’s also very important to understand the employee’s training and development requirement for their future accomplishments. The additional training should be provided on time to time to help the employees to better understand the future objectives for short term as well as for long-term. It should also include job-related training so that they can enhance their job performance. The training will help the employees to accomplish their goals and contribute positively to vision and mission of the organization.
Sometime on-job training is the best way of training for the employees where they can learn many practical things from other experts and from their own experience which will help them to add various skills to make the organization more successful and efficient in its skill utilization.
