American imperialism means the effect of America on political, economical and military influence internationally. It derives its strength from the fact that America is different from other countries. It is the nation which has taken up the job of liberating nations from dictatorship or opposition by the governed against the governing people or in simple words childish nations which needs proper education and training to grow into good nations. Imperialists believe that America should interfere and help nations in maturing and becoming democratic by use of force. However some people does not argue with this point and they are called anti-imperialist. They argue that although America should interfere but it should then leave these nations to decide on their own that how they will govern and control themselves.

These two different opinions are always busy contradicting themselves which results in a debate. This debate can be traced back to the time when America was undergoing industrialization and businessmen needed new markets. It reached its pinnacle during American and Spanish war to free Spanish colonies which resulted in annexation of Hawaii. And since then the two parties are busy arguing about the pros and cons of American imperialism. Thus whenever American imperialism is discussed a debate starts about its true nature and whether it is good or bad. In the last we can say that currently imperialism is gaining more and more popularity and anti-imperialists are at bay.
