What’s the difference between a task-centered and a people-centered supervisor? Which do you believe employees would rather work for? Why? Which would you prefer to work for? Explain.

Task centered supervisor is a manager that focusses on the output and the manner in which task is performed. He / She is mostly concerned about the end results and output and mainly puts his focus on how well or bad the task is being progressed, whereas a people centered supervisor focusses on people aspects, interpersonal relationships, he takes ideas form the employees as well and then work, participative progress is a major part of people oriented supervisor.

Employees would rather work for people-centered supervisor as he will understand the issues of the employees, will take feedback and suggestions from the employees and would make them feel wanted and respected. I would also prefer working under people centered manager for the same reason. He will allow me to give ideas; I would learn much more under him, the growth is much higher under a people oriented leader and a feel good factor is always associated as we are not just treated like salary paid employees.
