9. Paired Learning and Cooperative Learning rank high in the CCSS list. How do these strategies work, specify some high school math concepts where these are best used.
10.Integrated Math Engagements are problem-solving tasks that pull several math concepts together. Write a short example of an integrated algebra and geometry engagement.

Solution

The think, pair, share strategy is a cooperative learning technique that encourages individual participation and is applicable across all grade levels and class sizes. Students think through questions using three distinct steps:

The think, pair, share strategy works well when there are multiple correct answers to a given problem. This makes the strategy perfect for questions that involve estimation, patterns, logic, and so on. This strategy can also be used when students are deciding how to approach a problem rather than when they are settling on a specific answer to one.

An example would be that, Students play the role of teacher for a short, specific mathematics lesson. In advance of the class, they study the material, plan what supportive materials or manipulatives to use, and develop a lesson plan. Then the students “teach” the class and assign follow-up work to assess what their peers learned. Students read about the mathematics of three-dimensional maps that a team of researchers has designed for measuring the environmental value of open space areas with no roads.

I think a nice application of Integrated Math Engagement would be solving a linear system of equations, graphing and classifying solutions and developing algebraic representations of plane figures in the coordinate plane.
