What is the best source for ethical business practices: The individual employee, or the business organization itself? To what extent should individual employees be allowed to lend input in the creation of a code of ethics for a business organization? In the event that an individual employee’s ethical standards differ from his/her employer’s code of ethics, what can/should be done to resolve those differences?

Solution

Ethical code must always be prepared by an organisation rather than an individual employee. This helps in being unbiased and giving everyone a pleasant work environment. When we give this to a single individual the code might be negated by a section of employees . When this comes from the organisation everyone tend to follow it without doubt. When the employee\'s ethics does not match with the organisation and problems occur, it is better ot sort them out as soon as possible by meeting with the employee and explaining the need to follow a single code throughout the organisation for it\'s development. If it did not go well it is better to remove the employee from the position because an organisation required employees who can work as a team .
