1 . I mole of HPO4 (98g) was dissolved in 1 L of water at 25°C (p-0.997kg/L). If the resultant solution was used in the following reactions, what are the molarity (M molality (m) and normality (N) of the solution respectively for Rxn 1.1 an d 1.23 a) 1.0 M, 1.0 m, 1.0 N (Rxn. 1.1: 1.0 M, 1.0 m, 1.0 N (Rxn. 1.2) b) 1.0 M, 1.0m. 3.0N(Rxn. 1.1): 1.0M, 10 m. 3.0 N (Rxn. 1.2] c) L.0 M, 1.003 m. 3.0 N (Rxn-1): 1.0.M, 1.003 m, 1.0 N (Rxn. 2) d)_1.0 M, 3.0m 3.003 N (Rm 1); 1.0 M. 1 .0m 1 .003 N (Rm 2)

Solution

molarity = moles of solute / volume

              = 1.0 mol / 1.0 L

              = 1.0 M

normality = molarity x basicity of acid

normality = 1.0 x 3

                = 3.0 N

molality = 1000 x molarity / (1000 x density - molarity x molar mass ) ---------> formula

            = 1000 x 1.0 / (100 x 0.997 - 1 x 98 )

           = 1.003 m

in both reactions same H3PO4 used so all are same in two reactions

so answer c) is correct

 1 . I mole of HPO4 (98g) was dissolved in 1 L of water at 25°C (p-0.997kg/L). If the resultant solution was used in the following reactions, what are the molar
