I had checked the last two options and the answer was wrong

I had checked the last two options and the answer was wrong. The message said That the options I picked were the work done on the SYSTEM and NIT THE SURROUNDINDS.

Please help me understand how to figure how to figure that work is done in system vs. surrounding.

Also how to determine if work >0, W<0 etc.
