Please answer the following question 2 An electron and a pro

Please answer the following question.

2) An electron and a proton are each placed n a uniform electric field of magnitude E 520 N/C. a. Calculate the speed of each particle 48 ns after being released. b. What is the direction of motion of each particle? Given that the mass ofthe proton is m 1.67 x 27 kg, and the charge of the proton 19 is q 1.6 x 10 C. The mass of the electron is m 9.11 x kg, and the charge of the electron is g 1.6 x 10 19 C.

Solution

2) a. E = 520 N/C
F = qE
a = F/m = qE/m
v - electron = at = qEt/m = 1.6*10^-19 * 520 * 48*10^-9 / 9.1*10^-31 = 4388571.429 m/s
v - proton = 1.6*10^-19 * 520 * 48*10^-9 / 1.6*10^-27 = 2496 m/s

b. Direction of each particle is opposite to each other, with the positive particle moving along the direction of magnetic field and the negative particle moving in the opposite direction of the electric field
