The function graphed is of the form y a sin bx or y a cos

The function graphed is of the form y = a sin bx or y = a cos bx, where b > 0, Determine the equation of the graph 6-

Solution

the equation has to be a sinbx because there is no option of phase shift/horizontal shift.

so at x = 0, y = 0. so the equation is asinbx.

y = a sin bx

a = amplitude = 4 (check that peak point is 4)

period =2/b

b = 2/period = 2/(/2) = 4

so y = 4 sin (4x)

 The function graphed is of the form y = a sin bx or y = a cos bx, where b > 0, Determine the equation of the graph 6- Solutionthe equation has to be a sinbx
